CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: The sea was great this morning with almost no wind and no waves. It was could though and the complete lack of wind allowed some fog to install itself in the bay, sharply reducing visibility. We went out knowing it would be a bit harder but also confident with our experience. We had a first sighting of 3-4 harbour porpoises. Then it took some time but we had a second sighting with a minke whale that appeared a couple of times before disappearing. Then we found 2 white-beaked dolphins that came close to our vessel an we could stay with them for a while. In the back there was a larger group with 5 more individuals that did not seem interested in us. We started getting closer to the land and found another minke whale, larger that came close to boat and had clear and easy to follow surfacing sequences. It was time to head back, in the way we saw splashes made by more white-beaked dolphins.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: The fog we had this afternoon left the bay. The view on the bay was wonderful with the beautiful mountains and the flat sea. We had so many sightings of white-beaked dolphins during this tour. We probably saw 7 pods of around 5 individuals and one pod of 10 individuals so 45-50 in total. The groups were often milling, staying close from each other, socializing and surfacing in a calm way. We could approach and observe well a few of those groups that sometimes seems to show a bit of curiosity, rarely showing off with a little jump. We also crossed 2 minke whales. Unfortunately they were not friendly and we could not observe them very long. We sailed back crossing this pod of 10 white-beaked dolphins as a last sighting. Afterwards we went back to the harbour under a pleasant sun.
