Report from Eldey: Today Reykjavík woke up under cloudy skies, and out of the bay we were expecting a little bit of waves. But still we have the enough safety conditions for sailing in search of our beloved cetaceans. We headed north, and after a while sailing we spotted an amazing pod of 5 -7 white beaked dolphins. At the beginning, it was a little challenging to find them because they were constantly changing direction. But just when we were about to give up, they suddenly appeared very close to our boat. All of them at the same time, surfing the waves and socializing very actively. We were able to see them very clearly and in great detail. Thanks to that, we could perfectly understand why they received their name: a beautiful white, rounded beak and face. After being a while with them and allowed us to take many pictures we left the area. On our way back we spotted many different sea birds, and highlight of the trip: the Atlantic puffin. Many of them around! Another fantastic day at the sea.

Report from Eldey: The seas were much calmer than this morning so we were happily enjoying some waves as we went out. There were some cool birds around before we saw splashes in front and small dorsal fins swimming to us. It was a pod of white-beaked dolphins! They disappeared for a second but suddenly there were 7 to 10 jumping all around us! They were riding the waves, jumping over and over again, spinning and playing. Even a baby joined in the fun! As if that was not good enough, there was a blow in the distance. We went to check it out and there was not one, not two but three humpback whales in the area! The bay was full of life and one of the humpbacks started breaching, chin slapping and trowing its tail around! After a while, this behavior could also mean the whale did not appreciate our presence, so we decided to return to the harbour and leave it be. It truly was a special, amazing afternoon at sea.
