Report from Eldey: This sunny morning we sailed out once again trying to spot cetaceans! After an hour of sailing we spotted 3 small pods of white beaked dolphins! One pod consisted of 2, the other 5 and the other also between 4-6. Each of the pods behaved quite similarly, all coming up quickly and changing direction often. We tried to stay with the most active one but this one vanished after a few encounters. We continued sailing and started heading towards harbour but then heard some chatter on the radio that was worth investigating. When we arrived to the spot we saw one big blow belonging to a humpback whale! As we were quite short on time we saw it a few times, including a fluke dive before having to head back to harbour! While waiting for the humpback to reappear, we also spotted a minke whale! So in the end we managed to see three different species! What a start to the day!

Report from Eldey: We sailed out with the sun shining bright and even calmer seas than this morning so we were excited about what Faxafloí would have in store for us this afternoon. After some searching we found 2 harbour porpoises. We got to spot them a couple times very close to the boat, until eventually they disappeared again. After, we searched all around the bay but sadly spotted no more signs of any cetacean wildlife. Eventually it was time to head back, and while we did get to enjoy the beautiful, sun-soaked sail , we did hand out complimentary tickets to all passengers to so they get to experience the whales in the way we intend to.
