✔ CLASSIC TOUR ON SCHEDULE |  13:00

Report from Elding: It was super nice to head out into the bay of faxaflói with calm seas, there was a little rain but not enough to get us too wet. There were two humpback whales and one minke whale that we encountered today but the minke was only seen once by the crew, the humpbacks were good though, one in particular that showed the fluke a few times but they were super chilled out and allowed us to get close. They were roughly about 1 mile apart, solitary individuals. It was not only the whales we enjoyed seeing but also the seabirds, gannets, kittiwakes, puffins and guillemots that were all in abundance today too. With few passengers onboard it was just a nice relaxed time for all.

Bird Species ID´d today: Northern Gannet, Atlantic Puffin, Common Guillemot, Razorbill, Arctic tern, Arctic skua, Northern Fulmar, Kittiwake, Eider Duck, Seagulls.

✔ PREMIUM TOUR ON SCHEDULE |  10:00

Report from Þruma RIB: It was slightly raining and a strong wind was coming from the south so during the way back we struggle to open our eyes and we got splashed by waves. This morning the passengers could have a real taste of the icelandic weather and it was salty ! We could observe nice puffins in the way out of the harbour and further out in the bay. After half an hour of search the captain saw a blow at the distance. We approach the area and we waited. A bit later, I saw a blow at the distance so we moved again. The whale was not showing itself and even if we did our best to find it we could not show to our passengers any whale during this tour. We still enjoyed the amazing show of many northern gannets plunge-diving and other birds before we came back. We offered to our passengers the possibility to come back for free in a classic whale watching tour in Reykjavik or in Akureyri.
