Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 09:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

  • CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
  • CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

The tour at 13:00 has been cancelled due to bad weather conditions.

COVID-19: Keep in mind that passengers and crew are asked to ensure their own hygiene and safety at all times. Washing hands thoroughly with soap and using a hand sanitiser is advised. Masks are mandatory in areas where keeping 1 meter distance from others is not possible.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: Another interesting day in the Faxaflói bay. Even though we started the tour with some hail, it progressed with good visibility as the gray of the sky and water is a good contrast to the dark body colour of our commonly seen species of whales and dolphins. We really searched resiliently and stubbornly, as there was so much bird activity there must be whales or dolphins around. More than 2 hours into the tour, a tourist told us that he saw some animal. By its description it probably was a minke whale. Seems though that this animal was simply occupied with other things and it was difficult to keep up with. This obviously is anything but our standard, thus everyone with us today was given the chance to come on another tour with us for free using a complimentary ticket which we handed out at the end of our tour.

Bird species encountered today include:

Common guillemot, European shag, kittiwake, herring gull, black-backed gull, eider duck, northern fulmar, northern gannet
