CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: Todays the ocean was extremely calm as we sailed out. The sky was clear and the sun was shining over Reykjavik and the bay. It only took about 5minutes until we spotted some disturbance in the water - and lo and behold we had so quickly found a humpback whale! This humpback was quite a calm individual, coming up regularly and going for shallow dives. We stayed with it for a bit, but eventually decided to leave it in peace and continue our sail. Just as we did we spotted two more blows belonging to two more humpback whales! One of them was Banana, a regular we have seen over the winter months. They were showing the fluke each time, but often keeping us on our toes to their movements making us test our patience a bit as they came up. It was a marvelous afternoon, also filled with grey seals that would pop up from time to time. On the way back, we saw 2 harbour porpoises before spotting our original whale at the harbour mouth again! It came incredibly close and was just in shot with Harpa as well. What an ending to a great tour.
