Status: RUNNING

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: It was cold but not so windy when we sailed out of the harbour. The visibility was so great that we could see all of the mountains surrounding the bay. After about 50 minutes of sailing we spotted a huge flock of birds, we slowed down and searched for whales and dolphins. We often encounter birds and whales in the same areas as they often feed on the same prey, although this was not the case today. We spotted a few other smaller flocks of birds throughout the tour but had no success with larger animals. Unfortunately we ran out of time before we spotted any whales or dolphins and therefor we offered all of our passengers a return ticket! We look forward to seeing them all with us again!

Bird species seen on today's tour include: eider ducks, common guillemots, razorbills, icelandic gulls, glaucous gull, great cormorants, black-headed gulls, herring gulls, greater black-backed gulls.

We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik on this cold but beautiful day. The wind will pick up in the afternoon so if you are sensitive to motion sickness we do offer sea sickness tablets at the ticket office and on the boat free of charge.
