Tour at 1 pm: RUNNING FROM ANOTHER HARBOUR

Due to unfavorable conditions out of Reykjavík Harbour we will be sailing out from HAFNARFJÖRDUR Harbour today at 1 pm. A bus will be ready and waiting for passengers at our ticket office in the Old Harbour in Reykjavík and drive off to HAFNARFJÖRDUR at the scheduled departure time. This will result in a slightly longer tour or around 4 - 5 hrs, and may therefor impact COMBO tours. Due to swells there will be movement on the boat. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact our ticket office at elding@elding.is or +354 519 5000.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The sea conditions from Reykjavík were pretty rough so we left from Hafnarfjörður today where the sea conditions were much better. The weather today was a very good representation of Icelandic weather because it changed every five minutes and we got everything from sunshine to fog and it even snowed but we just made good use of the overalls on board. We had been sailing for a while when we heard that another whale watching boat in the area had spotted some white-beaked dolphins so we headed there. On our way we thought we smelled something fishy but unfortunately we couldn't find the owner and when we joined the other whale whatching boats they had lost the dolphins. The search continued until it was time to head back to the harbour but unfortunately we were unsuccessful in our search for cetaceans. This is unpredictable wildlife so there are no guarantees but of course we are always disappointed when we don't see something and therefore we offered all of our passengers complimentary tickets which are valid for two years so they can come on another whale watching tour with us. Hopefully we will have better luck next time!
