Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: we tried a new strategy this afternoon and traveled west, straight out in the hope we would find some minke whales in another area. No minkes unfortunately but we did get to see many harbour porpoises, 3 pods, 2 with 2-3 individuals but it was the pod with about 10 individuals that was the most fun to watch. The weather was a little less desirable with the frequent drnching rain but we kept nice warm and dry with the floation overalls. Because we didn't see dolphins or whales we offered  our passengers complimentary tickets which is for a free whale watching tour in the next two years. Hope they try again, otherwise it was fun with the porpoises, seabirds and the landscape that we could see through the clouds.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: the weather was a little bit dreary this morning with the overcast skies and the clouds that was threatening rain, but all in all we kept relatively good as it only rained for short periods most of the time it was dry. On the way offshore we saw many species of seabirds including a puffin, which flew fast away from our direction. The cetaceans were harder to find, it was after about 2 hours of searching when we spotted our first, a pod of 3-4 white-beaked dolphins. They were resting, slowly traveling. We left them in peace and found another pod of about 3 dolphins about 20 minutes later. Short but sweet encounters but as they were surfacing slowly it provided plenty of photographic opportunities.
