Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: At the beginning of our afternoon tour conditions remained mostly unchanged, with maybe slightly less swell but still our passengers were treated with serious rolling. Most of our sailing happened under weak wind and a little bit of sun, so our searching was long but enjoyable. Eventually we joined our fellow whale watching vessels closer to Akranes to see the cetaceans that they had found and could see white-beaked dolphins ! At first the sightings were challenging, with the dolphins surfacing sporadically and unpredictably, and there was now a much stronger wind and light rain pouring down. But we hanged on and stayed focus, and finally the magic happened. The others boats left, the rain stopped, and the cetaceans became more than cooperative ! They were surfacing all around us, coming closer to check us out, and moving much more slowly, so allowing nice pictures as well. We stayed with them for a while and just when we decided it was time to head back, 3 of them started to leap and jump out of the water, as if they had ants in the pants ! They put up a glorious crazy show for us, and we cannot express our gratitude for that ! In total there was between 10 and 20 of those dolphins, and they made our trip fun and exciting.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed out in the bay with pretty good  spotting conditions and a gentle breeze following us during all tour. Unfortunately, there was also quite a high swell that was keeping us from sailing quiet. We went directly to the area in which we last saw some dolphins in the past few days, but apparently there were none to be found. That lead us to a couple of hours wandering through the bay but, unfortunately, we never found them during this tour. A little of bad luck, but we gave to our passengers the possibility to come back again thanks to our complimentary tickets! We hope it'll work better next time!
