Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: This afternoon started just like the morning one. We departed from Hafnafjordur and were shaken on the way out for a little while. The swells got a bit stronger though, but also we suffered them for a shorter time. Then the sea conditions got clearly better, allowing us to circle in a wider area, exploring further away from the coast. We thought thqat it would give us more chances to spot whales, alas just like this morning we were empty handed. Whales movements always change over the course of the day so we were still hoping for the best after our morning defeat, but today the cetaceans did not seem to visit the waters off Hafnafjordur. It concluded a sorrowful whale watching day, but hopefully everybody could still enjoy the sailing, know those fascinating creatures a little bit more thanks to the narration, and mostly hopefully the tide will turn. Once again we offered complimentary tickets to everybody, may the next whale watching excursion be a succesful one !

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: As weather was rough out in Faxa Bay, we left from Hafnafjordur. Thus the departure was delayed by half an hour, which was convenient as the daylight is getting shorter as we are getting closer to winter. So we departed with optimal lighting ! We were gretted by surprisingly strong swells, considering the shelter we had from land, but it quickly got better so we had to hold on bravely only for a while. We could then search throughly along the coast in a relatively calm sea conditions, but sadly nothing was to be sighted. Emptiness seemed to have seized our sailing area. Probably there was no food in the waters we were visiting, thus no cetaceans dwelling around. An event of bad luck is not something that is going to stop us, so when we got back to the harbour and handed over complimentary tickets to our passengers, willing to give them another try at their best convenience.
