CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Eldey: Pink and purple skies awaited our red boat! It was cold, like really cold, but no wind, so we had smooth seas, glassy at times. Perfect conditions to spot cetaceans! And so, after a mere 15 minutes of search, 2 humpback whales showed up on our eye radar. They were our beloved resident whales, Banana and Split! When we found them, they were sleepy, but they soon woke up because of a school of fish nearby. A few grey seals were signaling the presence of food in the area, and so the whales went hunting. After a few flukes and lunges, we went away to try to spot more stuff. Near the North buoy of Akurey, we found about 2 pods of 10 harbour porpoises feeding on some fish together with a few Northern gannets plunging into the cold waters. After a bit, they swam away and we went on to find the humpbacks again and after that we went back to the harbour.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: It was a calm afternoon today where the sun was just warm enough to warm our faces in the cold weather. After a quick search, we found our resident humpback whales Banana and split again. This time they were surrounded by birds, among many plunge diving northern gannets. It gave us an amazing spectacle to watch as they were going back and forth, feeding on the large schools of fish below. After a great time, we went on and found a pod of 15-20 harbour porpoises, also very active feeding. It didn't end there though, as we also found a pod of 5 white-beaked dolphins (including one calf) going there merry way in the bay. One quick stop at the same humpbacks concluded our tour, leaving us very satisfied with our day.
