Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: Even in winter the weather conditions can positively surprise you here in Iceland and today was one of these lucky days. We were sailing out from Hafnarfjoerdur today and were expecting quite some swells and rain, but the sea was pleasant to sail and it was dry for most of the duration of the tour. The visibility was not the best, however we could observe many sea birds on our tour including the majestic northern gannets. Overall we had already searched for over two hours when we all of a sudden saw 2-3 harbor porpoises popping up. Those cute little fellows stayed with us for a little bit, but then vanished. Still it was a very nice bonus to see them up close. Unfortunately these have been the only cetaceans we saw on today's tour, so we offered our passengers complimentary tickets to try another time to find more wildlife in the bay. We surely hope to be able to show them more cetaceans next time.

Bird species seen on today´s tours include: northern gannet, northern fulmar, European cormorant, kittiwake, great black-backed gull, and eider duck.
