CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 0900
Report from Eldey: We set off on this cold, wet morning with the wind behind us. The waves weren't anything too big but there were still a lot of whitecaps. We travelled around the bay seeing many seabirds such as Northern gannets and black guillemots. On our travels in total we saw 5 pods of harbour porpoises, the pods varied in size with the biggest totalling 4 individuals. Overall, we saw 11 individuals. Then once we got closer back towards Reykjavík we spotted a minke whale! It was quite fast and popped up a few times. Due to the quickness of our sightings we decided to give out complimentary tickets so our passengers can come back again and hopefully spend a bit more of the tour enjoying the cetaceans of Faxaflói.

report from Eldey: This afternoon was quite rainy and windy but that didn´t hold us back. After about half an hour we spotted a minke whale! We got to spend quite some time with this individual and even saw multiple lungefeeds! After some time, we gave it some well-deserved rest and headed deeper into the bay. We than ran into a pod of 4 white beaked dolphins. They were swimming around us, sometimes closely side by side. After a successful afternoon, it was time for us to head back into port.
