CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: We started our tour from Reykjavik harbor on calm seas .Not long after departure we encountered harbor porpoises very close to the port and right at the beginning of the trip. Their appearance filled us with excitement for what the rest of the tour might bring. As we headed further out we soon found ourselves surrounded by minke whales. More than ten of them spread out in the area. We were happy to watch them feeding and cruising gracefully around the boat and we stayed with them for quite a some time before continuing our search for something larger. It dint take long before we spotted a humpback whale feeding in the area. It even showed us its fluke a beautiful sight and a highlight of the trip. A nice way to end up our already exiting tour.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 11:00

Report from Hafsulan: We set sail this morning and had been on the water for about half an hour when we spotted our first minke whale. We continued cruising and soon saw a blow in the distance — a humpback whale was steadily traveling and surfaced quite close to the boat, giving us a great view. In the same area, we noticed two more minke whales and took some time to observe them as well. Eventually, it was time to head back toward the harbour, but before we reached it, we were treated to one last sighting: a pod of around five white-beaked dolphins bow-riding alongside us — a fantastic end to the trip!

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00

Report from Eldey: It was a nice 18°c outside as we made our way into Faxaflói once again in search of wildlife. After about 30 minutes of sailing, we encountered our first cetaceans: the elusive harbour porpoise! This pod of about 3-5 individuals, had a clear plan on where they were going, and soon enough we lost sight of them. It wasn't long until we spotted a minke whale briefly as we made our way further into the bay, where we had reports of whales. Low and behold, there we found a pair of calm humpback whales peacefully cruising along! At one point, they approached us very close, and everybody could see their pectoral fins shine underneath the waves! At that point, we had to say goodbye to the whales, and made our way back to land as happy as clams after this lovely tour!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR l 15:00

Report from Hafsulan: We sailed out with the wind in or backs, towards calm seas. We headed out deep into the bay today in our search for wildlife as we had one specific goal in mind: find the humpbacks again. On our way we spotted 4 minke whales, we did not spend too much time with these guys as we kept our eyes on the price. We eventually found 2 humpback whales, side by side. Diving for mere minutes and showing of their flukes over and over. On 2 occasions they passed by right behind us, giving us incredible close encounters! To top it all off, we even managed to see 3 peduncle throws from one of the individuals! Eventually, time ran out though but we could sail happily back to Reykjavik today!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR l 19:30

Report from Elding: We set sail for our evening tour and spent about an hour traveling on the water. During the trip, we spotted two humpback whales traveling quickly. The sunset was beautiful, casting a golden glow over the ocean. At one point, we were lucky enough to witness a peduncle throw — an incredible sight! As time was running out, we made our way back to the harbor.
