Today we will be operating on Þruma RIB for our 10:00 Premium Whale tour and on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 09:00 and 13:00  Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

  • CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 9:00, 13:00
  • PREMIUM WHALE TOUR | 10:00
  • PREMIUM WHALE TOUR | 14:00

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: Sailing out in this very beautiful weather and cold air of the early winter, we rode through the wind and waves far out as we saw several flocks of birds in the distance. In this very active zone, we had the chance to first have a pod of 6 white beaked dolphins come and join us, bowriding and gliding very close to our boat. Throughout our tour, we saw several blows and dorsal fins appear around us: these were all minke whales, roaming around and feeding in this zone. Luckily, 5 of them came very close to us, but in a pure minke fashion they kept being very fast and hard to keep up with. We headed back from this spot, having seen a lot of movement and wildlife acting around us throug the tour.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: We headed out of the bay in the sunny but windy afternoon, hoping to recreate the sightings of this morning. After a long way out, we crossed paths with a pod of 6 white beaked dolphins, but sadly they only surfaced 3-4 times. With several blows around us, we tried to get closer to these appearing individuals, without much chance. During this time, we managed to see 2 harbour porpoises very close to us. Then suddenly a minke whale appeared super close to us 4-5 times. We then saw another 2 porpoises and a minke before we headed back. Due to the difficulty of seeing most of these cetaceans our captain decided to give out complimentary tickets so that our passengers could come back and hopefully have better luck in the future.
