CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: What a feeding frenzy we had this morning! We sailed out on a bit of swell and chop but excited nonetheless. After about an hour of sailing we spotted our first blows on the horizon. And then more and more, as we got closer we also saw a huge flock of birds so we knew we were in the right spot. Then a humpback whale super close to our boat. This one was so close and calmly went for a deep dive showing us its beautiful fluke and pectoral fins through the water. Then another another one! There was so many blows all around us it was difficult to keep track but in total we saw between 8-10 humpback whales. We were surrounded by so many sea birds including dive plunging gannets which never gets old. As we were all in awe surrounded by wildlife, we spotted white beaked dolphins in the distance. We decided to leave the humpback and have a closer look at the pod of 6 white beaked dolphins. They were bow-riding and even jumping out of the water. When time ran out we headed back to harbour, still seeing blows and gannets as we went.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: What a nice tour! Despite the swell and the grey sky we sailed towards South with the hope to spot again some whales from the previous tour. We faced a strong wind during the first hour but this led us to an area where we spotted 1 sneaky minke whale and  2 humpback whales in the distance. Once we were getting closer to them, we just found out we were surrounded by other 2 individuals of the humpbacks. Big bird flocks were in front of us with different species busy plunging into the water to catch some fishes. And of course lots of whales around too,  6 in total! We saw a pair of humpbacks swimming around us for a while and they were pretty relaxed. During the tour we were so lucky to see a nice breach right in front of the bow  from one of them but it was so unexpected and exciting at the same time!!  So lovely!
