CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Eldey: We headed out in beautiful Icelandic winter weather - rain and a bit of snow in between, paired with wind! :D Our journey would bring us to Hafnarfjördur, where we have seen whales for the past week. The 2 Humpback whales didn't disappoint us, they were still in the area of the harbor. First we could only see their backs coming out of the water, without seeing a blow, from far away. Then a few minutes later, one of them appeared quite close to the boat. We followed him for about 2 minutes and then the second one joined his companion. Both of them were in good spirits towards us, because they were surfacing very often and also very close to the boat. Also they were exhaling very powerful, so everyone could hear it clearly! The show-off of their flukes was just perfect and then they did like a tail slap, but right underneath the water surface, which was also really cool to see. But the cherry on top of the tour was, when both of them did a synchronised fluke dive. Their beautiful flukes made everyone break out in "OOHHH WOOOWWW's", as well as the crew! :)
