Tour Status: RUNNING

We are sailing from the Old Harbour today. The weather is quite calm with a 6-8m/s wind coming from the west and 6°C. According to the weather forecast there should be no rain during the tour. But there will be some swells and movement on the boat.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The weather and see conditions were almost the same as the previous tour, even though we had a small tiny attempt of snowing for a few minutes just as the boat was going out of the Old Harbour. We faced again the swell, so this time we tried to get rid of it by gently sailing towards Keflavik, getting shelter from the coast. For almost 3 hours we put again all our best effort, trying to spot any whales or dolphins. But the more the clock was continue ticking, the more evident was that today this gentle giants didn't wanted to show themselves. Nonetheless, we offered our passengers complimentary tickets that they will be able to use in the next two years to try better luck, either in Reykjavik or in Akureyri.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: The weather this morning was quite calm, in comparison with the weather that has being taking over the south west cost of Iceland lately. The problem today was that, even though the wind in the bay was not such a big deal, the surrounding areas out of it are facing some huge storms that, unfortunately, are sending lots of waves to Faxaflói. And that cause a huge swell, the worst enemy of whale watching. Either way, we bravely went out trying to spot the wonderful wildlife that we've got in this bay. For almost one hour and a half we saw nothing until, suddenly, we noticed that one solitary white beaked dolphin just appeared swimming extremely close to the boat. But unfortunately as soon as we stopped the animal went away, and that was all the wildlife that we saw during the tour. It was a pity, but we gave our passengers the possibility to come back again to try better luck next time, by sharing out some complimentary tickets.
