Tour at 13:00
Report from Eldey: It was a lovely day on sailing out into the bay, with a wonderful flat sea and a little bit of rain throughout the tour but that just meant we could use our overalls to keep us warm and dry. It took us some time to find the cetaceans today but when we did we were not disappointed. A pod of 6 white-beaked dolphins, popped up in front of us and we were able to watch these for some time. They were wonderful coming up very close at times, in beautiful slow movements. They even swam right under the boat! We were watching this pod when suddenly a minke whale surfaced, just once but in a slow movement. We waited around to see if it would resurface but unfortunately, not, so we took another loop. And we were lucky enough to spot another pod of 4 dolphins which we were able to watch very closely, a perfect ending to the tour.

Report from Eldey: Good conditions this morning with a small amount of swell in the bay and cold, but sunny skies. After heading out into Faxaflói for roughly an hour we received a call from another tour company that white-beaked dolphins had been seen. As we made our way to their location we gained our first views of this dolphin. A scattered pod of 6-8 animals formed to make a more tightly packed pod that seemed to be in a very relaxed manner. They were easy to view coming very close to our vessel. Whilst watching this pod, another was sighted further away, but were making their way towards our location. We were able to spend a good amount of time with these animals before deciding to leave them be and continue our search elsewhere in the hope of finding something larger. We were unable to find anything after, but passengers were more than satisfied with the great dolphin encounters.
