Report from Eldey: Another awesome but rough day on the seas. We started the tour with beautiful scenery, the most blue sky we have seen on over a week and a strong warm glow over the city of Reykjavik. We have had a lot of westerlies latety that bring in the rolling waves, we have, however, been very lucky to have a humpback whale that has been close to coast, around the islands near Reykjavik for the last 3 days and we were VERY happy to find Mr Humpback there again. Took us just 30 minutes to find it and stayed with it for over 1hr. Of course if we felt we were disturbing it we would have left much sooner but first it was just travelling, surfacing often and then turned and fell asleep so oviously not purturbed by us at all! It's always a great feeling to know your not disturbing the wild animals when they fall asleep right next to you. Whales shut down half of their brain at a time so they are always conscience but just slows down their movements. We searched for other animals too but other than the nice selection of seabirds we were not successful. Still it was a fun, adventurous and productive whale watching tour today.
