Status tour 9am and 1pm: RUNNING FROM ANOTHER HARBOUR

Due to unfavorable conditions out of Reykjavík Harbour we will be sailing out from Hafnarfjörður Harbour today. A bus will be ready and waiting for passengers at our ticket office in the Old Harbour in Reykjavík and drive off to Hafnarfjörður at the scheduled departure time at 9am. This will result in a slightly longer tour or around 4 hrs. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact our ticket office at elding@elding.is or +354 519 5000.

Report from Eldey: The winds picked up a little on this tour but the rain subsided and was not as heavy but still a bit miserable. Most passengers however stayed outside until the end of the tour and were lucky passengers to see the 3-4 harbour porpoises that quickily travelled past. They were usually found under a flock of seabirds (gannets, seagulls and sooty shearwaters). Once again we were unluckly with the larger species so we offered our passengers complimentary tickets that can be used both in Reykjavik and Akureyri in the next two years.

Report from Eldey: The weather was quite miserable this morning, heavy rain and windy condition. As we left the harbour of Hafnarfjörður we were delighted to see a variety of seabirds; seagulls, fulmars, cormorants, razorbills, gannets and one species quite rare to see; sooty shearwaters. We sailed west and noticed that most the seabirds were close to the coast. We also saw a couple of harbour porpoises. No whales or dolphins unfortunatly so we gave our passengers complimentary tickets in the hope they will be luckier next time they come.
