- CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 9:00, 13:00
Today's Whale Watching tours from Reykjavík are on schedule! Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!
CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Eldey: We sailed out with nice weather it was just a little cold and the sea was flat. As we sailed along the islands in front of Reykjavik we saw 2 dorsal fins peaking out of the water. We found 2 humpback whales ! Banana and his friend. They were swimming around Viðey island surfacing and showing us their beautiful flukes. Lots of seals were hanging out on the rocks close by. It was very peaceful and nice to watch. Mount Esja was in the background. After a while we left them, because we don't want to crowd them to much and so we sailed out to have a look around. But as always, time runs out at one point and so we had to return to harbor. What a great tour. :)

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: With calm seas and a breeze that reminded us that Winter was still here, we went out in search of cetaceans! As soon as I finished the safety speech, a blow was spotted not too far out. There were 2 humpback whales nearby, Banana and Kiwi (name pending)! They were swimming kinda fast, to make some momentum to catch some nice fish. The water was so clear we could see the school of fish lingering under us and also the whales when they were about to surface. Around us there were also plenty of birds and 10 grey seals feeding at the same time! After a while we circled around to try to spot more stuff but nothing else was seen, so we came back to the whales and then to the harbour.
