Tour at 13:00

The weather was still very nice when we sailed out to Faxaflói bay this afternoon. We had to sail very far out to find the whales. First we spotted a pod of Harbour porpoises, a very nice one. Further out we finally found the minke whales. First one surfaced only 4 times before disappearing. The next one was better, it surfaced few times and we could see it quite well. We also spotted a group of white-beaked dolphins but at the same time the third minke whale surfaced very close so we decided to follow it. The minke was very nice to us, and surfaced few times. We didn't find the dolphins again, but all together really nice tour.

Tour at 09:00

We set of this morning in a very nice weather. We started at the puffin island Akurey and then we sailed out to Faxaflói bay looking for whales .It took us a long time finding the whales today. One shy pod of harbour porpoises crossed out path but we only saw them for a short while which is quite common with the Harbour porpoises. Further out we finally found two minke whales and lots of diving gannets. The minke whales surfaced few times so we hope that all our passengers could have a good look at them. On our way back we found the third minke whale but as we were out of time we only spent few minutes with it. Very nice tour.

Birds seen on the tours: fulmars, puffins, kittiwakes, Gannets, guillemots and arctic skuas.
