Report from Eldey: Today we sailed out with the sun shining on our faces during the whole tour! With a light Icelandic breeze, we put on our sunglasses and we were ready to go and spot the wildlife of Faxaflói. Right after leaving the harbour, we spotted a minke whale passing by, showing up once and never again. So we continued sailing until we reached the Whale Fjord, with the beautiful mountains everywhere we looked. Tiny splashes next to the boat showed us an active pod of about 8 harbour porpoises, very fast! We then spotted a blow in the distance, and we saw a humpback whale. But before getting to this one, we were surprised by a splash next to us, on the opposite side. We had a second humpback even closer! This one disappeared for a few minutes, until surprised us again popping up meters away from our boat, as we could hear its loud blow. When it showed his fluke, we were sure we had Mr. Bubbles with us. It was feeding actively and even jumped! We stayed with it a bit more and then we started to get home, after having an amazing quality time with Mr. Bubbles.
