Tour at 17:00

The wind calmed down a little from the 13pm tour but the rain was still persistent. Once again we visited Akurey (Puffin Island) and saw thousands of Puffins. We headed to the same area as the last two tours which again proved to be the most productive spot. First a blow from a Minke was seen then out of nowhere it surfaced 200 meters away. It surfaced many times but the swell from the sea hid most of the body. Again there was three separate occasions where we saw Minke Whales for this tour but only once was it seen less than 100 meters. It may of not been the best whale watching weather but it was really nice to see the Minkes less than10 miles from the coast because for the last week or so we have had to travel out 12-18 miles.

Tour at 13:00

In quite rough sea conditions we headed out looking for whales. After searching for some time we spotted one Minke Whale. It surfaced 4 times 90 m from the boat but we couldn´t find it again. The wind was picking up and it was raining cats and dogs. So not the best whale watching weather today. Anyway, we ended the tour by visiting the Puffin island Akurey and there we were lucky. Many thousands of Puffins sitting on the island and flying around it. Absolutely magnificent.

Tour at 9:00

The weather was not so nice today, sea was a bit rough, it was raining and the visibility wasn´t that great. However, we started the tour by visiting one of two puffin Islands off the coast of Reykjavik and saw thousands of Puffins. The most I’ve seen this season.  We then headed offshore and saw many flocks of feeding seabirds. We slowed down the vessel as this seemed a good area to spot whales and we did. The passengers spotted the first Minke of the day, so great spotting guys. There was 3 Minke Whales seen on this tour they surfaced regularly and on occasion less than 100 meters from the boat. Despite the weather it was actually a very good tour.
