Tour at 13:00 Report from Hafsúlan and Elding : today we took out two boats so our passengers would be more comfortable. It was snowing and the visibility wasn't very good as we headed out but after about an hour it started to clear up. The landscape was beautiful, with snow covered mountains and pink sky! We searched for 3 hours with out any sightings besides a few Harbour Porpoises that the boat Elding saw, unfortunately Hafsúlan missed them. When we were almost giving up hope, already to late towards the harbour there were two black backs spotted of ... Humpback Whales, and as we got closer we could see that there were actually 3 animals in that area feeding on the fish herring. There was so much fish there our fish detector almost went crasy, finally, the herring is in Faxabay! The humpbacks rolled, showed us their fins and flukes and they even lunge fed a couple of times very close to the boats, just amazing! We headed to the harbour with the smiles glued to our faces, what an amazing tour full of surprises. Let's hope the herring stays in the bay and that we can enjoy the company of the humpbacks again!- Freydís Ósk & Megan Whittaker
