CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00
Report from Eldey: We set sail into a swelly bay this afternoon under grey skies. It wasn't long until we found our first species, a humpback whale! This humpback whale was a bit shy, however, and only gave us a good look at it once before we were forced to move on. We also spotted 4+ minke whales out in the bay, feeding in the depths. Then, we found a group of 4 humpback whales travelling together and, suddenly, one of them breached! This breach set off a chain of breaches all around us, and we could see two more humpbacks breaching in the distance. All together, we spotted over 7 humpbacks during this tour. As we were heading back to land, we got one last breach as our grand finale, before returning home! Fantastic end to the tour!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 15:00
Report from Hafsúlan: We went out wit some wind from the south west. We had to travel some time through the swell of the North Atlantic before we spotted the first blows on the horizon. Then everything went quite fast. We set course towards the blows but out of nowhere a minke whale surfaced right in front of us. It was traveling fast and so we focused on the blows and splashing that we saw in the distance. We got closer and it turned out to be a bunch of humpback whales feeding actively on the surface. 3 of them worked together using the bubble net technique. 3 others were feeding on their own in the area around us. also some more minke whales turned up in between and joined the feeding. Overall it was an adventurous tour out on Faxaflói.
