Status: RUNNING

We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik today. The forecast predicts mild wind from the east and we could experience some swells.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed out from Reykjavík in perfect sea conditions today. The sea was smooth with just a bit of swell left and the sun was shining during the entire tour. Barely any clouds also meant that we got to enjoy all of the landscape around us that is often hidden behind clouds and fog. In these conditions it would have been easy to spot cetaceans and after about an hour we came across a small pod of 2-3 harbour porpoises. Some people got a short glimpse of them before they disappeared. Unfortunately we didn't see any other cetaceans on the tour, so that we gave everyone a complimentary ticket to come with us on another tour for free. At least we saw many flocks of birds, many cormorants and fulmars and even a few northern gannets that are coming closer to shore now before staring to breed here.

Bird species seen on today's tour include: northern gannets, northern fulmars, cormorants, razorbills, great black-backed gulls, Iceland gulls, glaucous gulls, and kittiwakes.
