✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE   | 13:00

Report from Eldey: With wind directions having changed, also the swell from yesterday had weakened and although still there, it was more of a pleasant rolling. We had a winterwonderland landscape surrounding us with a great visibility all throughout the tour. Every now and again we had some bird activity making us hopeful to find cetaceans feeding on the same fish that those birds were after. Also 2 shy harbour porpoises were another good indicator for us being in a rich area. But despite best efforts and covering a large area of the bay, our search remained unsuccessful today. As this is not the usual case and we want to prove that to our passengers, we provided complimentary tickets to all that wanted to come again in the coming two years, enjoying hopefully not only more scenery but also the whales and dolphins of Faxafloi.

- Sabrina Voswinkel

Birds seen today: black-backed gull, northern fulmar, cormorant, common guillemot, northern gannet, black-headed gull.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. There is a strong undercurrent in the ocean now so there could be some movement out on the bay today after the bad weather that we have been having for the past days, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office. Make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land. For more information contact us by email elding@elding.is or by phone +354 519 5000.
