CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00

Report from Eldey and Elding: Today we had a bit of everything, we sailed out with the wind - making it feel like a summer's day in the sunshine! We quickly spotted a big blow that came up a few times. This blow then reappeared on our other side and was being quite elusive, difficult for us to figure out what it was. In the end we figured out it was one humpback whale in the distance and a minke whale at the same time. These two were quite elusive so we continued on our journey. We quickly we spotted another blow, which was probably the same one as before. This one came up a few times showing the fluke and then once breaching as well! It then vanished so we continued on and found some jumping dolphins as well! There were about 4 pods of dolphins each consisting of 6-9 dolphins. They were doing all sorts of behaviour from feeding, to jumping to bow riding! And one pod had calfs as well! In the midst of all the dolphins, we spotted one minke whale as well which came up very slowly close to the front of our boat. We eventually ran out of time, and had to start heading back. On the way back we stopped one more time for another pod of dolphins!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed out this afternoon onto an even calmer sea, still enjoying the sunshine! The ocean was already very calm in the morning and now even more so. Quite quick after leaving we spotted a minke whale. This one was a little elusive so we continued on but then found a very inquisitive minke, that came incredibly close multiple times! We stayed as long as we could but then continued and very quickly found a pod of up to 10 white beaked dolphins! They were jumping in the distance and then calmed down as we got closer but did then swim incredibly close to us as well. They eventually moved on and we heard a rumour of something larger in the bay, so we headed that way. We found a humpback whale. This one was taking long dives but then we headed further and found another one! This one did also take long dives but showed the fluke when it went down! This was a beautiful send off as we did have to start heading back to the harbour. On the way back we saw two more pods of white beaked dolphins, both around 7 individuals strong. The second pod was very active and doing flips out of the water!
