CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: We set sail with a very Icelandic day with light rain in our faces and a heart full of hope. After about 45 minutes we started to see harbour porpoises being very shy and then a massive blow not too far from us! It was a humpback whale slowly swimming. This whale was very predictable since it came up and then it went for a fluke dive. It did this 4 or 5 times in a row! But, there were too many boats in the same area and we need to respect the code of conduct in order to respect these gentle giants. We went further away and we saw a little blow not too far again, it was a minke whale which decided to disappear after this. Our day was over, we started to head towards the harbour after a very nice Icelandic day on Earth Day!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: We started the tour with a completely covered sky but a nice and warm temperature. As we headed out of the harbor we realized there was a bit of a fog covering the horizons. As I was explaining the area in which we were at that moment some passengers spotted some harbor porpoises! They were behaving elusively as they always do so we decided to go on a bit further seeking for bigger wildlife. Just a bit later, I spotted a blow in the distance and then another one closer to us! It was a humpback whale!! We were also able to see a very quick white beaked dolphin. Pedro was taking some pictures and realized the humpback whale had some scars due to a previous entanglement. After some time we decided to head back to Reykjavik. We saw around 6 harbor porpoises, 1 white beaked dolphin, and 1 humpback whale.
