CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Eldey: Today we had all seasons in a day! We sailed out on incredibly calm seas with the sunshine and mountains on our right and dark grey open ocean on our left! After a short delay, we left and not long after spotted a large pod of roughly 30-40 white beaked dolphins! They were basically surrounding us and in any direction you would look you could see some. There was lots of different behaviour to be seen, from jumping, to porpoising, bow riding and just travelling along side us. We stayed with them for quite some time before heading on to head further out. We then sailed directly through a rain cloud but did not find anymore cetaceans. We then slowly headed back, now enjoying the view of Reykjavik getting closer and closer.

Report from Eldey: This afternoon we sailed out through the rain but then when we were out in the bay we had escaped it. The ocean was still incredibly calm and after about 30min of sailing we spotted 4 harbour porpoises. As the ocean was so calm, it was quite easy to see and spot them! They are often pre-occupied with feeding so we let them be and continued on. Not long after we spotted two blows in the distance - 2 humpback whales! Just as we arrived one of them breached!! It was a spectacle and completely unpredictable! They then seemed to calm down, coming up to the surface a few times and always showing the fluke. One of them seemed to be resting so after some time together we decided to head back. There was another boat approaching and we dont want to overcrowd them. The ocean on the way back looked like a sheet of silk and was stunningly beautiful.
