Tour at 13:00

Report from Elding We started our tour by visiting Akurey (Puffin Island) and saw many Puffins flying around the island and sitting on the water near. Then we headed out offshore and soon came across a small pod of White-beaked Dolphins (6-8 individuals). They had a juvenile with them so they weren´t that interactive. We stayed with them for a little while before heading further offshore to see the Minke Whales. We saw two on this tour and close to the boat on the odd occasion. There were Harbour Porpoises everywhere so the passengers had the choice of what to watch, the Minkes or the Porpoises. There wasn´t that many birds but we did get to see Gannets, Guillemots, Puffins, Arctic Terns, Fulmars, Kittiwakes and Gulls. Another calm day in Faxaflói, keep them coming ;)

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan The weather conditions were excellent this morning. Calm wind, calm sea and really good whale watching conditions. We were really lucky on this tour. Just as we came out on Faxaflói bay a Minke whale breached in front of us, not far away. It breached several times, and we got a very good look :) It is not common to see Minkes breach, especially not in calm conditions like today. Then we headed on and found other Minke whales and many Harbour porpoises. In the end we also found a large group of White beaked dolphins! On our way back to the puffin island and the harbour we saw another group of White beaked dolphins, unusually close to land. It was a really good tour :D
