Report from Eldey: We sailed out under beautiful sunshine, with some wind incoming from the Northeast. After some days of cloudy weather, it was great to have clear visibility all the way out to Snæfellsjökul! As soon as we passed Akranes, more and more seabirds started appearing around - Atlantic puffins, Northern fulmars, and even some Northern gannets flew around us. After quite some time of spotting, we suddenly noticed there was a tall spout in the distance. When we arrived, we found out that it came from a humpback whale and a pod of 7 white beaked dolphins! We were able to watch the humpback whale surface a few times, and the dolphins swam right towards us a one point. As the humpback whale went for a deeper dive, we continued following the dolphins for a little while, before they swam off and we noticed the humpback whale had travelled quite a far distance. So we let the dolphins be and headed over to watch the humpback whale once again, ending with a beautiful fluke dive in the sunshine just in front of our boat.

Report from Hufsulan: We headed out in beautiful sunshine, with wavy seas and high hopes for the day ahead. After a bit of searching, we were rewarded with our first sighting: a pod of five white-beaked dolphins! They were curious and came incredibly close to the boat, giving everyone a fantastic view. Although the encounter was short, it was a memorable highlight. Continuing our search, we spotted a minke whale. Unfortunately, it surfaced only once before disappearing, leaving us with just a brief glimpse Later in the tour, we found another minke whale, this time a very small juvenile. Once again, the sighting was brief, but it was exciting to see such a young whale out in the bay. Although today's whale encounters were short-lived, nature is always unpredictable, and every trip is different. To give everyone another chance to experience longer sightings, we offered all passengers complimentary return tickets so they can join us again and try their luck on another adventure.

Report from Eldey: The wind from the north east was still pushing in as we went out for our second tour of the day. We went to the same area were we spotted the humpback whale during our tour before, but the conditions were rough and no large blows could be spotted. A few times we stopped near what could have been a blow but after minutes of waiting could not be confirmed as nothing was seen surfacing in the area. We got lucky as our captain spotted a small pod of around 6 white-beaked dolphins. Despite all efforts to get a good look at them, the waves and foam made it hard to keep the little group in sight. After just a few glimpses at them and the occasional little jump, we lost sight on them in the swirls of the North Atlantic. After all we offered complementary tickets to our guests to come out with us another time in hopefully less windy conditions than today.
