CLASSIC WHALE TOUR l 09:00
Report from Hafsúlan: It was a cold October morning as we set sail under an orange sky, painted with the colors of the sunrise. We headed back to the islands where we had seen whales yesterday, but instead of finding whales, we found a very cute little harbour seal who briefly checked the boat out before moving on. Then we circled around the islands and made our way back to the harbour walls, where we were very excited to find a pair of humpback whales! It was the same pair we had been watching yesterday. They wowed people as they moved calmly next to us, coming up for breaths every now and then. After this majestic encounter, we headed back to land with hot chocolate in our bellies!

Report from Hafsúlan: In the afternoon, the skies were a little more overcast and the wind had picked up slightly but this just added to the Icelandic experience! As soon as we left the harbour, we spotted the blows of the pair of humpback whales from this morning! I didn't even have time to introduce myself, let alone start on the safety speech! We watched the pair for a little while. They gave us nice fluke dives and even started logging for a little bit, staying right at the surface of the water. After some time, more whale watching boats arrived, so we continued to different areas to look for other animals. We sailed towards Hvalfjörður but unfortunately, didn't find any other cetaceans. We headed back to our original humpbacks that were still just next to the harbour wall. They were still doing the same behaviours but this time decided to surface very close our boat a few times. The perfect end to our afternoon at sea!
