CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed out in a rainy and cloudy yet calm sea. We wanted to check out an are where we had sightings the day before. After about an hour of sailing out in the bay of Faxafloi we spotted a few blows that turned out to be caused by white beaked dolphins. That pod of around 8 individuals was quite active an changed directions a lot. They even came very close to our boat and everybody had the chance to get a very good look at these beautiful animals. In the distance we also saw an elusively travelling minke whale that kept coming up for short breaths. Northern Gannets all around us also kept entertaining us with their spectacular plunge dives. On the way back we encountered a pod of around 4 harbour porpoises that was elusivelly travelling as well.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 10:00

Report from Hafsulan: Today we sailed with a overcast sky and a constant light rain. We met a bit of swell that made the boat rocking during all the tour. Despite the waves and the foggy visibility we spotted 1 pod of 4 harbour porpoises just crossing our route in front of us. These cute little dorsal fins were quite visible and close to spot them but also very far. We continued our sailing further out but we could not see any other creatures. Almost at the end of the time we spotted other harbour porpoises far in the distance but all the crew decided to give to people complimentary tickets to have a chance to come back and enjoy better sightings!!!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: We had a cloudy day with a bit of rain in the mixture but we were brave enough to get out and try to fins some cetaceans. We passed through many showers of rain, some stronger than others but the urge to see whales was stronger than that and a few people still wouldn't leave their spot on the edge of the upper deck. After 1 hour of sailing we had a glimpse of a fin in the water. It was a very elusive minke whale that swam away from us. We continued our search and we found a small pod of 3 to 4 harbour porpoises that were making some splashes. We could see them travelling and then they disappeared. Not too long after 2 other minke whales popped up and one of them was so big that we could even see the blow. It was an amazing sighting but we had to go back to the harbour as the time was over. Rainy day but only in the sky.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 17:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed out in a rough cloudy and rainy bay of Faxafloi. For a while we did not see anything but clouds and rain but the sky finally cleared up and we witnessed increasing numbers of birds which was a good sign for us. We saw several beautiful Northern Gannets and a few spectacular plunge dives. We spotted around 4 elusivelly travelling harbour porpoises, one very elusive minke whale and one very shy pod of around 6 white beaked dolphins. As they were all very elusive and only the very lucky passengers were able to see them we offered complimentary tickets so everybody can get a second chance to see cetaceans with us.
