Tour at 1300

Report from Elding and Hafsúlan: There were so many passengers booked on today's afternoon tour that we had to go out on two boats! Elding left first and then Hafsúlan right behind. It didn't take the crew on Elding long to find some white beaked dolphins. There were two to three pods of them in quite a large area so Elding stayed with one of them and Hafsúlan with the other one. They seemed to rather enjoy our company, occasionally breaching out of the water and approaching the boats. On the way back we enjoyed a beautiful scenery on the snow covered mountains around the bay and Reykjavík city. Great day with playful dolphins.

Tour at 0900

Report from Hafsúlan: The wind was blowing from the north east as we left they Reykjavík harbour on a cold winter morning. It was a bright beautiful day but it took us a long time to find the first cetaceans. After more than one and a half hours a passenger finally spotted some white beaked dolphins but they disappeared suddenly after surfacing only two or three times. We then sailed a bit further out and found another pod of dolphins. This time, they finally showed off properly, breaching out of the water and diving under the boat. All in all it was a beautiful day out on the day but we are hoping for even better sightings this afternoon.
