Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan and Elding: We had a large amount of tourists joining us on todays tour, so much so that we had to take two of our boats out. We sailed from Grindavík today as it was forecasted and observed that the sea conditions would be better from there, getting shelter on the south coast of the peninsula, also Grindavik has good chances of seeing the larger cetaceans including Orca and Humpback Whales. So we took a chance. First, both boats headed East, Hafsúlan further offshore than Elding which hugged the coastline. Soon, however, the swells got bigger than anticipated so we changed direction and went West past Grindavik for a while. Unfortunately, no whales today so we gave our passengers complimentary tickets. Looking for the silver lining, the sunset was stunning, the landscape always beautiful and lots of seabirds as listed below but mainly Gannets, Gloucous Gulls and Kittiwakes.
