CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00

Report from Eldey: This morning we sailed into the bay searching for some whales and dolphins we watched the sun rise with a beautiful snowy landscape after some cold days in Reykjavik. There was a bit of swell but the wind had calmed down allowing us to explore the ocean. Just after 20 minutes we spotted a blow very close to Videy! A humpback whale, it was banana again! We watched the whale swim gently while traveling slowly even closer to shore, we stay with the whale for about half an hour watching it fluke multiple times before we decided to go search a bit further out. Eventually it was time to return to the harbour.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00

Report from Eldey: The wind and seas had calmed down a bit more since the morning but heavy clouds still loomed overhead. As we searched around a bit we stumbled upon our beloved humpback whale Banana again. They seemed to be resting at first but eventually picked up their pace, possibly feeding on the fish below. We saw many fluke dives with the tail high in the sky. After a good show we went onwards to scour the bay a bit more, but did not find anything else so to wrap things up we joined Banana as now they were journeying further out into the bay.
