Report from Elding: A beautiful, calm, quiet evening on the bay. There was not much to see in terms of wildlife tonight, even the birds were rare, the occasional fulmar flying past or a puffin diving down. We sailed to our best areas and even to some others. We were getting to the point of thinking nothing might not be seen but then suddenly a juvenile minke whale surfaced and interacted with the boat, swam round us 3 times and then disappeared into the blue. In the end a special minke whale encounter rather than a numerous one.

Report from Eldey: Unfortunately the rain clouds were still hanging very low for the evening tour and we had to deal with some stronger winds as well. However, we were in a good mood after our two succesfull previous tours this day. We came across a minke whale after heading out into the bay for a little while. But this individual was just passing by and it only surfaced two times and most of the passengers were not able to see it. We kept going, searching for some more cetaceans, however, this elusive minke was going to be the only one we got to see during the tour. In the end we offered our passengers complimentary tickets so they can try their luck on another tour.

Report from Hafsúlan: We were greeted by some rain in they bay and got soaked as soon as we went out, but that did not stop us on our adventure today. We saw lots of birds as they were feeding and saw the fish ball under the surface. Even though we saw lots of birds there seemed to be no cetacean in sight. We searched and soon we found some 5-7 harbour porpoises feeding. We were able to see them for some time before the went away. Next up we saw some splashes under a flock of birds and went closer and saw 3 minke whales feeding and traveling around. We were even able to see the white belly of one minke under the surface. After observing them for some minutes we headed back and were happy after the sightings and to be able to get dry again after the rain.

Report from Eldey: The afternoon trip started with a tremendous view of Faxafloi, we could see Snæfellsjökull which a volcano more than 100 NM from Reykjavik. Adding to the factor that the sea-state was calm nothing could go wrong. After a while sailing we discovered a very productive area with hundreds of seabirds feeding and in between them 2 minke whales popped up. One of them was smaller than other, making us think about a mother-calf couple. They were with us for a while before they went further away. We continued our trip to spot more seabirds an another minke whale feeding in between them. Unfortunately, rain made its appearance and it was our companion in the way back but our warm hearths couldn't´t get cold after such a good trip.

Report from Hafsulan: It was so relaxing to start day sailing through calm water under almost clear sky. For a good beginning we spend some time with pod of 10 white-beaked dolphins traveling by our side. Dolphins also seemed to enjoy this nice weather as even two calves from their group were swimming together, chasing each-other instead of staying with mothers. Around one hour later we saw a minke whale. It was big individual and after following it we found big flock of birds where 3 more minkes were feeding. The smallest of them - max 3 m in length was the most active, making a lot of splashes and rolling under noisy birds. We were watching all that show with respectful distance but whales were passing by next to our boat with distance of only few meters.

Report from Eldey: For our tour this morning we had an incredibly flat sea and therefore perfect sailing and spotting conditions. We also were lucky enough to get some sunshine for most of our tour. We didn't go far into the bay, when we came across a pod of 6-8 white-beaked dolphins. The cetaceans were very relaxed, surfacing slowly around the boat and it was easy to follow them and take pictures. After this lovely start of the tour we went to look further out in the bay. It didn't take us long to find a flock of feeding seabirds and 2 minke whales feeding in the same area. These cetaceans were easy to follow as well, surfacing quite predictably. After sailing a little longer we found 2 more minke whales, giving our passengers another opportunity to take some nice pictures of these incredible animals.
