CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: This morning we sailed across the bay with a perfect weather. Sea was glassy, no wind and some sun joining us during the tour. After few miles sailed we spotted our first 2 blows. There were 2 humpback whales together, swimming and feeding almost in synchro most of the time. They were David Jones II and Haang, that apparently are seen together since a week. It was absolutely incredible admiring these two super close to the boat, showing us their fluke, their flippers and also the belly!!! Meanwhile we were surrounded by so many seabirds, active in catching schooling fish as well and at least 10 minke whales all around popping up to the surface with their dorsal fins. There was lots of action in the sea today and we spent great quality time with these creatures. We ended the tour seeing another species, a pod of 6 white beaked dolphins, with a calf included. This has been a beautiful tour and everyone is still amazed!!!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR I 10:00

Report from Hafsula: We had good conditions sailing out from Reykjavik. Almost no wind or waves at sea and the sun was peaking out from time to time. We got a report of a humpback whale close to the harbour and soon enough we could confirm it. A solitary humpback whale were traveling away from the shore. This individual was a bit tricky to follow as it went for long dives so we didn't stay for long, but continued further out into the bay. Not long after we got company by 5 harbour porpoises and thanks to the calm sea we had a good look at them. Further out we the minke whales started popping up all around us. At least 8 individuals appeared around us this tour. A bit further out 2 humpback whales were feeding in sync. We spent a good amount of time with them before it was time to head back to Reykjavik. A very nice tour!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey : We went toward the area where we saw animals previously. When we reached the area we saw our first species : some minke whales ! There was quite a few around us, 10 to more, feeding all around. You could see a lot of black backs and pointy fins as they came up to the surface to breathe. In the middle of these minkes we spotted a humpback whale. This individual is one we know as Happy. The whale was travelling quite fast so we decided to take a stroll to maybe see more animals. As we did not find any we came back toward the previous area and saw Happy again much more active, feeding, and all of that with another individual humpback whale we know as Aaang that was seen first in 2019. We got some looks of both these animals a few times before we made our way back toward the harbour. A nice tour with a lot of wildlife.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 14:00

Report from Hafsúlan: There's a beautiful day out there in the bay and we want to enjoy it, so we set out in search of some cetaceans! No waves, almost no wind and a bit of sun is enough to warm ourselves in the middle of Faxaflói! After about 40 minutes we saw a blow followed by another very close, we had in our sight 2 humpback whales that were feeding on some fish close to the surface with a tornado of birds surrounding them! Around them we could count the fins of at least 10 minke whales that were also doing the same. The humpbacks did lunge feeding events, fluke dives, they went sideways, showed their white pectoral fins and also some backflips under water! They did it all and we enjoyed it very much. The minkes even got close to us to check us out! In the end when we were almost getting back to the harbour, 3 harbour porpoises popped up very close to the humpbacks and then vanished the same way they showed up. The time was over and so, we got back to Reykjavík to continue this beautiful non-Icelandic day!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 17:00

Report from Eldey: This evening we sailed with a super calm sea and relaxing vibes. We had a glimpse of sun and few sun rays accompanying us during the tour. After a while we spotted some birds activity in the distance and we wanted to reach that area that was the same of the one we saw the whales feeding in the previous tours. Once there we spotted around us 6 minke whales, pretty far from each other, busy traveling and feeding. Then, we saw another blow, higher. This was 1 humpback whale, resting and logging. But we knew this guy, it was David jones II that came super close to the stern, spy hopping and rolling around. We of course stopped as we had to be careful when it was underneath the hull. Then we saw it again in front of us and we could admire few elegant fluke dives. We never get tired of these views!!! What a nice tour!!!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 20:30

Report from Elding: We started the tour right in time with amazing weather conditions. We had no wind and we had the sun shinning. We set off and we got to see 2 very elusive harbour porpoises. After that we got to a spot in which we could find a sleepy humpback whale and some white beaked dolphins. We spent some time with it and we could see it very close to the boat as well. We got a glimpse of two minke whales in the distance too. After that, we sailed back with an amazing sunset on our back.
