Tour at 13:00

It was a wet whale watching tour, but fortunately we had very calm weather for a winter day in Iceland. On this tour we first spotted a small group of harbour porpoises. Like harbour porpoises usually, these few animals were rather shy and left us soon. Then we had to spend a long time searching before we spotted a lovely group of white-beaked dolphins. They entertained us very well by swimming close and calmly around the boat. For a winterday we had actually many interessting bird sightings: Surprisingly many shags for exampel. They were everywhere in big flocks, diving and flying. In summer we usually see only a few of them at the coast. Beside the dolphins and the harbour porpoises we enjoyed especially the shags very much.
