✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 13:00

Report from Eldey:  A cloudy afternoon to be sailing in Faxafloi bay. We started the tour in light rain but luckily for us it stopped early on into the tour. We begun our search for Cetaceans in the Eastern part of the bay. After about 1,5h of sailing some of our passengers spotted splashes next to us. It turned out to be a couple of white-beaked dolphins but we only saw them surfacing two times as they were heading away from us very fast. -Probably just passing through the area searching for food. A short while after that we encountered a pod of 5-6 white-beaked dolphins, that this time stayed with us a long time, seemingly very curious about our boat. They were also very playful, jumping quite a bit. Eventually, they started going away from us and being more elusive, so we decided to continue sailing and respectfully leave the dolphins in peace. On our way back we got to enjoy the sunset peeking through the clouds over Reykjavik.

✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 09:00

Report from Eldey: The weather conditions were perfect for cetacean detection. Nevertheless, these was one of those seldom tours where our whales and dolphins were nowhere to be found. Different factors might make it more challenging to find the animals, starting with the distribution of prey across the area and ending the fact that these creatures have different moods and different tasks, behaving sometimes quite illusively. Working with wildlife can be quite unpredictable at times. Though situations like this are simply beyond our control, we provided all our passengers complementary tickets so that they can comeback again on another whale watching ride for free!
