CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: today we sailed out on a beautiful sunny day! The sea was flat and perfect to spot some whales! We first spotted 2 big blows in the distance and we approached slowly, as another boat was already there. There were 2 humpback whales swimming side-by-side, one of them being our beloved Banana! They were very actively feeding, spending just a couple of minutes under the surface and being very unpredictable when coming up! There were also about 4 grey seals very close to them, as well some seagulls cutting the surface to catch some fish at the same spot! We stayed with them as we couldn't move much, since the whales were coming so close to us. But then, we managed to sailed out a bit more, admiring the mountains while looking for something else. Then, we came back to see them once more and, on the way home, we spotted a lone common dolphin! A very rare sighting for Iceland. This dolphins was probably also looking for food and it was very calm on the surface. We then said goodbye to it and came back to the harbour, enjoying the sun on our faces.
