Tour at 17:00

Again we sailed straight out to Faxaflói bay, the weather was the same as the earlier tour. It took us a while before we saw our first minke whale. After we saw the first one we spotted few other minke whales surfacing all around us. It was almost hard to decide were to look there were so many whales. There were also few harbour porpoises surfacing around us with the minke whales and they were having a lot of fun. Some minke whales surfaced closer than others and some of them surfaced only once before going for a deeper dive. In total we were probably looking at least 10 minke whales. On our way back we stopped at Akurey to visit the puffins, there were not many but we were able to view some that were sitting on the surface. Great tour today.

Tour at 13:00

Today we sailed straight out to Faxaflói bay, the weather was nice but a bit choppy on the way out. After a while we found our first minke whale that surfaced only 10 meters away from us and was staying around us for a while surfacing very very close, once only 5 meters away so our passengers were able to take a very good look at it. Than we found 3 other minke whales and 2 of them were surfacing together and both surfacing VERY close to the boat and one breeched out of the water. We also saw 3 harbour porpoises surfacing few times. On they way back we stopped at Lundey, there were not many puffins to look at. Overall an fantastic tour this morning.
