Report from Eldey: This morning we sailed out into the grey with the wind in our backs. We went past the snowcapped Esja into the middle of the bay, with no luck there we continued on and after searching for a bit found a minke whale! This minke looked like it did a mini half breach and then went for a deep dive. We waited patiently and saw it one more time but then it vanished. At the same time as seeing the minke we also saw 5 harbour porpoises! They were coming up quite close to the other boat but were also quite skittish. We eventually headed on but did not see anymore species during the rest of the trip. We therefore handed out complimentary tickets so that everyone can try their luck again and see they bay in its full glory!

Report from Eldey: We sailed out onto Faxaflói bay in search for cetaceans. On the way out we came across a small pod of 3 harbor porpoises. Motivated by this early sighting we continued our search. Even though the weather was a bit of a challenge, we found 6 harbor porpoises and 2 minke whales that came up for a few shot rolls before disappearing among the waves.  Due to the short sightings we offered complementary tickets to our guests.
