CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00

Report from Eldey: This morning we left the harbour with the sun behind us and beautiful blue skies ahead of us. Our first sighting of the day was a humpback whale that was bubble net feeding next to the boat. However, we didn't stay with it for a long time because there was a breaching humpback behind us, not very far away. When we arrived there, it welcomed us with a peduncle throw of its tail. However, it became a little shy later. Fortunately, there was also a minke whale in the area that was surfacing from time to time. We followed the humpback for quite some time and there were other minkes popping up every now and then. Since this humpback seemed a bit tired of the previous show, we went to check 2 humpback whales that were nearby. After waving these whales goodbye, we started our way back to the harbour.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: This afternoon we set sail with high spirits, eager to find whales in the bay. After taking in the beauty of our surroundings, a minke whale made a quick appearance close to the boat. We stopped, hoping it would resurface nearby, but true to its elusive reputation, the minke swam swiftly away and we continued our journey deeper into the bay. A short while later, we spotted a larger blow in the distance ‐ it was a humpback whale! We followed this individual as it performed several surface sequences and graceful fluke dives. All of a sudden we heard a loud exhale just next to the boat ‐ it was the humpback whale that decided to make a close appearance. Everyone marveled at how big it was next to the boat. After another fluke dive, we chose to leave the whale be and carried on our way. Not long after, another minke whale surfaced very close to the boat. In comparison to the first minke we spotted, this one excitingly came up to the surface four times close to the boat. What thrilling encounter! Soon after, it began to rain, and as it was time to head back to the harbour we warmed up inside with hot chocolate on the journey home.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 17:00

Report from Elding: This afternoon we sailed out under clear skies with a promising sunset ahead of us. We were extremely lucky because just a few minutes after leaving the harbour we found a minke whale. This whale was quite friendly and it swam with us on our way out, it was even surfacing a few times next to the boat. After leaving this minke, we continued our sail onto the bay. We spotted a blow in the distance, which turned out to be a humpback whale. This whale surprised us with a breaching behind us! Luckily, when we turned the boat it did it 2 more times in front us, and even a peduncle throw. After spending some time with it, we decided to leave and go to look for something else. Before turning back to the harbour, we spotted a pair of harbour porpoises. This was the perfect ending for a wonderful tour.
