CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Eldey: This morning, we had beautiful calm seas and a stunning sunrise under the clouds. After passing Viðey, we saw two blows in the distance. As we got closer we saw it was 2 humpback whales, the same pair that we have been seeing for a while now. Banana and their friend were very relaxed this morning. Still waking up with the sunrise. They were swimming very slowly and logging right next to Viðey. Sometimes in water so shallow we couldn't follow them. After watching them for a while, we continued our search around the islands when another boat arrived in the area. Unfortunately, we didn't find anything else so we headed back to our humpback pair. When we arrived the second time, they had woken up and were feeding under some birds! We were even treated to a few fluke dives! In the same area were 2 grey seals calmly bobbing at the surface too. A wonderful way to finish off the tour!

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00
Report from Eldey: We sailed out in great weather, the sea conditions were great and the wind not too strong. The sun was shining and mount Esja was powdered in snow. As we sailed out we saw a few grey seals, sticking their heads out of the water and checking us out. Viðey island isn't far from the harbor and this is also the place where we found 2 humpback whales. One of them is called "Banana" the one with the white fluke ;) and his friend still needs a name. Suggestions of our guests were Apple and Mango and our captain calls him Kiwi. So we'll have to choose one name I guess. :) Anyways, we watched these 2 friends doing their thing, surfacing often, but also often direction changes, coming close to the boat and checking us out. After a while we left, to not disturb them too much and to see if we could find something else in the bay. Unfortunately we couldn't find anything else, so we decided to stop by on our way back and say goodbye to our 2 beautiful humpback whales. They were gracing us with views on their pretty flukes, also up close ! And so all good things must come to an end and we left for the harbor - with happy guests and happy crew. :)
