Tour at 13:00
Report from hafsúla: before we sailed out we had heard news from another boat from Elding which went out on a private tour at 10 a clock, they had seen dolphins not so far from Reykjavík. We decided to sail towards that area and look extra carefully around. After only short sailing we noticed some splashes a head of us and soon realized these were white-beaked dolphins. We saw two pods of dolphins, one with 4 individuals and the other one with 5-6. At first we saw these groups traveling fast, few of the dolphins were jumping out of the water which is always very exciting to see. One group then slowed down and swam slowly around the boat. these beautiful animals made it easy to forget the cold weather and the constant snowing over the tour. They didn’t seem to mind the boat at all, they often came towards us and even swam under the boat 3-4 times. We had a great time with the dolphins until we had to sail back to Reykjavík.
